In its raw form, silk is a natural insulator, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It is also free
of dyes, bleaches, chemicals and other allergy causing materials. A silk comforter has many layers of silk floss filling; a good quality comforter will have about 150 layers of silk filling, allowing it to absorb moisture and release it into the air. Silk also has natural amino acids which are good for the skin, insomnia, joint pain, and asthma.

The weight of a piece of silk fabric measuring 100 yards in length and 45 inches in width is what is referred to as the momme weight or momme grade. The recommended momme grade for silk comforters is a minimum of 16, our grading is 19. The outer cover is recommended to have a thread count of at least 220, and our silk comforter casing is 240.
